Meet Maggie Sgalio - Sea Isle City Realtor

Maggie Sgalio and her husband, Ed, came to Sea Isle City on day trips during college years at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey.

Their friends all went to Ocean City but Maggie and Ed liked Sea Isle better. Sea Isle is smaller, friendlier, and roomier.

They married and moved to Sea Isle in 1972 and raised their four children and many animals here. Maggie began her career in Real Estate in 1981 and started working at Avalon Real Estate in Sea Isle and later moved to Pleasure Realty. In 1987 she and Ed bought Sofroney Real Estate at 4201 Landis Avenue in Sea Isle.

They met many wonderful people through those years and ended up helping the children and grandchildren of many clients. They were favorites of Jay Lamont and appeared on his radio show numerous times. Ed built many quality homes in Sea isle through the years and has many repeat clients. In 2009 Ed suffered a massive heart attack while consulting in Maryland. While he was in the hospital there having 4 bypasses, Maggie got a call from Don Laricks asking her to move the business to his office. Ed recovered, they merged with Laricks Real Estate, now Compass / Laricks Real Estate at 4110 Landis Avenue and it has made her life much easier.

Maggie knows the island inside and out and that knowledge gives her the edge when it comes to advising clients, not only for buying homes or selling homes, but also finding the perfect rental for a family. She knows the inventory and nothing gives her more pleasure than saying, "Of course I know that house, my husband built it!" She will give you her recommendations for service people also.

Life at the Shore is so full and wonderful! For people who ask “What do you do all winter?” I say you can be as busy as you want to be or stay home every day. There is so much to do here, so many great organizations to be a part of , that sometimes it’s hard to choose! There are fabulous restaurants to try, all kinds of summer programs, and don’t forget, we are midway between Cape May and Atlantic City!
